Maryam Mughal joined PAA’s Ottawa office as a Research Advisor in 2024. Her expertise in public policy analysis benefits clients across the financial services sector, allowing her to offer critical insight into today’s most pressing issues.

Maryam has previously worked in the federal public service, including time spent at Health Canada and the Embassy of Canada to Germany, in Berlin. She has also worked in the non-profit sector, and has had ample research experience. These diverse roles equip Maryam with a unique and wide-spanning perspective when supporting clients through the financial services and payments ecosystem.

Maryam has a Bachelor of Knowledge Integration, with concentrations in Legal Studies and Philosophy, from the University of Waterloo, which allows her to tackle complex and interdisciplinary problems with ease. She also holds a Master of Arts in Public and International Affairs from the University of Ottawa’s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA).
